Elsa Murray (they/them) is a trans nonbinary visual artist and writer based in the upper Midwest. Working in acrylic painting, block printing, poetry, and prose, their practice is rooted in themes of identity, place, history, and resilience. Deeply connected to the native flora and landscapes of their home region, Elsa creates imagery that honors both personal and collective narratives. Taught to paint by their grandmother, they carry forward a legacy of creative expression that bridges generations. Elsa’s work reflects their commitment to fostering representation for trans, queer, and disabled communities, offering spaces of reflection, resistance, and hope.
